Is your Panamera experiencing excessive oil consumption?
Auto Defect Law Group is investigating the Porsche Panamera excessive oil consumption potential class action lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of Porsche Panamera vehicles that are prone to excessive engine oil consumption. It has been alleged that consumers with Porsche Panamera vehicles are experiencing excessive engine oil consumption at levels that require the addition of significant engine oil between Porsche’s recommended oil change intervals.
It has also been alleged that consumers who own a Porsche Panamera and experience oil consumption that present their vehicles to Porsche for repair are informed that:
- engine oil consumption is considered normal
- and are denied warranty coverage for the necessary repairs
In a Consumer Reports’ 2014 Annual Auto Survey found that several auto manufacturers are building engines—available in a number of widely sold models—that require frequently topping off the oil reservoir between recommended oil changes. That’s a worry and cost that a new-car owner shouldn’t have. In fact, excessive oil consumption is believed to create a serious safety hazard to consumers, as well as significantly reduce the value of their Porsche Panamera.
Porsche Panamera excessive oil consumption – how much oil consumption is too much?
If a Porsche Panamera owner has to add a quart of oil once per month, that can mean adding up to 7 to 9 quarts of oil between oil changes. Those costs due to excessive oil consumption can add up, since most automakers require synthetic oils that can cost upwards of $9 per quart or more. If your Porsche Panamera is using one quart or more of oil per three to five thousand miles, you should have it checked out by the dealership.
